Knockdown & Rebuild – Padbury

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This partial knockdown and rebuild project has transformed a 1975-built house in Padbury into a modern, open-plan masterpiece. With a land size of 683 m², the original 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom home now boasts state-of-the-art features and beautifully extended living spaces featuring passive principles.

The brief for this renovation included extending the rear right-hand side of the home to create an inviting outdoor alfresco area, complemented by a new pool and a stylish outdoor paving area. On the left-hand side, an extension was added for a luxurious ensuite and walk-in robe. The main bathroom received a full renovation, while the living and kitchen areas were opened up to form a large, airy open-plan space. The former living area at the front of the house was converted into a cozy theatre room. Additionally, new doors and windows were installed throughout the home, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The design highlights included the huge jump in performance by building with high quality passive principles to bring the property from 3.8*rating to a 6.9* energy rating.  Other features included a raked ceiling, a state-of-the-art kitchen with a hidden pantry, and vinyl plank flooring throughout. The outdoor space is a standout feature, with a pool, alfresco fireplace, and a meticulously designed outdoor paving area that creates an ideal environment for relaxation and entertaining. The project also included a new roof, carport strip, gutters, downpipes, and enhanced structural elements with triple grip and tie-downs.
